Western Digital has just announced the release of their new WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD and P40 Game Drive, which is an M2 PCIe 3.0 x4 that offers users up to 6 TB of storage space for a competitive price point. PC gamers have been in search for more slots on their motherboard for games so this would be perfect!

Western Digital announced the WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD and P40 Game Drive SSD. The WD_BLACK is a high performance, low power consumption 3D NAND drive that is designed to provide exceptional performance for gaming PCs and workstations.

The WD BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD (1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB) and the WD BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD, both developed in conjunction with AMD, have been added to Western Digital’s WD BLACK SSD range (500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB). The former is a PCIe 4.0 SSD with read rates of up to 7,3000 MB/s, while the latter is a portable external SSD with RGB, USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, and read speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s. Both will be available this summer for $189.99 and $119.99, respectively, with an MSRP starting at $189.99.

This powerful internal PCIe Gen4 SSD boasts blistering read rates of up to 7,300 MB/s, making it ideal for serious gamers searching for unrivaled performance. Gamers can enjoy an amazing gaming experience with quick load times, rich visuals, and uncompromising thermal performance thanks to decreased latency, predictive loading, and adaptive thermal management. The new Game Mode 2.0 (Windows only) in the downloadable WD BLACK Dashboard unlocks PC performance-boosting tools so gamers can play, broadcast, record, and dominate at the top of their game. To assist maintain top performance, an optional heatsink (1TB and 2TB versions) is offered, which features RGB lighting to match any gaming system.

Starting at $189.99, the WD BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB sizes (U.S. MSRP). Starting in July 2022, it will be available through certain Western Digital shops, e-tailers, resellers, system integrators, and the Western Digital Store.

SSD WD BLACK P40 Game Drive The WD BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD boasts a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 interface, blistering read rates of up to 2,000 MB/s, and adjustable RGB illumination for gamers searching for portable storage with both performance and flair (Windows only). The WD BLACK Dashboard, which can be downloaded, allows complete control over the LED light display and can be synchronized with a variety of existing RGB ecosystems for a configuration that can be tailored to any gamer’s preferences. It’s ideal for gaming on the move, thanks to its sleek, small, and shock-resistant design.

Starting at $119.99, the WD BLACK P40 Game Drive SSD will be available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB sizes (U.S. MSRP). Starting in Summer 2022, it will be available for purchase from certain Western Digital shops, e-tailers, resellers, and the Western Digital Store.
