You’ve heard the stories. They say there’s a big tower deep in the woods of the world, and in that tower live the last children on Earth, a tribe of kids who somehow stumbled upon a magic relic that transports them to a distant land. When they return, they are changed, and they have a mandate to destroy the staff of Doom, a magical item that was imbued with the power to destroy them. It is this mission that has led the Last Kids to the forest, where they live among the trees, never seeing the sun, and never hearing the sound of a human voice.

We’re in the final part of The Last Kids on Earth! That’s right, we’ve made it to the end of our adventure to save Earth from the impending doom of the Staff of Doom. We’ve faced off against the Staff of Doom, the Woot, and the Melchizedek. And with the help of our friends like the Poltergasm, the Goosinator, and the time traveling Mr. Volt, we’ve put a stop to the Staff of Doom. But what about the Poltergasm? That’s right, I know, he may not seem like much now, but he’s really good at solving puzzles. And I think it’s time we took him out for a test drive.

The Last Kids on Earth is a new indie game developed by Sirvo Studios. You play as a group of kids who must escape the world after a meteor hit and a virus spread the world to chaos.

Another licensed game was published by Outright Games, Spirit: Lucky’s big adventure lasted less than a week. While I know I shouldn’t expect much from a game of this caliber, I’m still always happy when I play one. Licensed bands are almost never as good as regular AAA, but they are my Achilles’ heel. They remind me of a simpler time in gaming, and have a strange charm that no other type of game can match. I’m always happy when a licensed game turns out to be better than mediocre or only recommended for fans. That was the case with DC Super Hero Girls, and hopefully it will be the case with The Last Children of Earth and The Stick of Destiny. word-image-1450 The battles are simple, but the controls are incredibly responsive. The Last Children of Earth and the Stick of Destiny is based on the Netflix animated series, which is also based on a series of children’s books about… Zombie apocalypse. Before you think this is some kind of cartoon drama, The Walking Dead or The Last of Us for kids, remember that The Last Children of Earth makes the end of the world seem fun. All these kids spend the day in the treehouse playing video games, then they go to a nearby pizzeria run by one of the good monsters to get a bite to eat. But every once in a while, they get in their souped-up SUV, Big Mama, and beat up a bunch of zombies and other evil monsters. I don’t know why Ellie was so depressed about her games ….. These kids seem to be having the time of their lives in the middle of Armageddon. This game essentially takes the basic concept of the series (a lighthearted take on the zombie apocalypse with friendly but annoying kids interacting with monsters) and turns it into a hack n’ slash heavily influenced by Diablo, albeit with a hundredth of the depth. Basically, you pick one of four different kids, each with different stats and play styles, choose a goal, and then explore a pseudo-open world where it’s mostly a matter of going to one place, killing hundreds of zombies, collecting an item or talking to an NPC, and then going to another place to repeat the process. word-image-1451 Why are these kids driving an SUV when they are probably thirteen years old? It seems pretty predictable, and it would be, were it not for one small detail: The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom has surprisingly good controls. It’s a standard hack’n’slash combat system: light attack, heavy attack, dodge roll, distance attack, and the ability to occasionally summon monsters to perform large-scale attacks. Nothing fancy, but the combination of your character’s power, the available difficulty and the excellent frame rate (60fps the whole time, with no hiccups) led to a much more immersive experience than expected. From time to time the villains of the game decide to attack your cabin, but then another element that is unique to this game comes into play: Tower Defense. You can customize and upgrade the defense of your cabin with turrets and armor. You’ll then have to fight small battles to survive against the hordes of zombies that are coming at you. It sounds exciting, but it’s actually quite simple, as befits a game for children. It’s even easier if you decide to play this game with a friend, as it supports up to four players on a local network. word-image-1452 Is it a giant monster? Don’t worry, he’s one of the good guys. It’s hard to tell one from the other, I know. You could say that the gameplay of The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom largely saved the game from failure. Visually the game is not that bad, it follows the art style of the series, but it consists mostly of simple 3D objects that could have been made on much weaker consoles. The problem comes from the sound department, which consists of half a dozen terribly compressed tracks that sound worse than a fifth-generation MIDI. And then there’s the voice acting, which isn’t bad, but is so frequent and so obnoxious that you’ll want to let the zombies eat everyone on your team to enjoy a few minutes of silence to spare your ears and your sanity. word-image-1453 The game The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom also has Tower Defense sections. Don’t worry, it’s simple. The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom isn’t bad in terms of presentation, but I didn’t expect the gameplay and controls to be so solid. I wasn’t expecting exciting car battles and local cooperation with 4 players either. It follows the same trend as most mid-range licensed games: If you (or your kids) are a fan of the series, get it. It respects the original material and offers a lot for your money. If you’ve never heard of this series, you can still have fun with it if you’re a fan of Diablo clones.

It doesn’t have the best 3D models, but it largely reflects the art-style of the series. It works pretty well too. A fast-paced hack n’ slash action game with responsive controls and a decent framerate. I didn’t expect the combat mechanics to be as polished as they were, which was a very pleasant surprise.
There is an overabundance of voice acting, which is annoying at times, but I can’t deny that the actors did a good job. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is embarrassingly bad: It’s repetitive, boring and very compressed. The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom is intriguing not because of its connection to the series, but because its gameplay and controls are far more fun than you might expect based on its bland presentation.
Final decision: 7.0

The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom is already available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch. The test will be done on the Xbox One. A copy of The Last Children of Earth and the Staff of Destiny was provided by the publisher.

That would be the Kids on the Internet, and yes, they’re as much a threat to our world as the Staff of Doom on the TV show Doctor Who. And yes, they’re perfect examples of why you shouldn’t trust a word you read on the Internet; back in the day when the Internet was new, a YouTube video alleged that anyone who wanted to read them was in danger of losing their minds. Of course, the truth is that it was a prank, and the video was a hoax, but it reveals a valuable lesson about how much we pay attention to what we hear about the Internet.. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the last kids on earth and the staff of Doom multiplayer?

The Last Kids on Earth is a 2D sandbox survival game, where you’re a kid trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. You have to explore, scavenge for food, and explore the world. It’s a great game, and some people have even called it ‘Darwinian.’ But is it really? “The Last Kids on Earth” is a retro-styled action-adventure game with a deep storyline, a large world to explore, and an extensive array of fun and challenging puzzles to solve. You play as a young boy who must fight through hordes of dinosaurs to save his entire species from extinction. The game is very challenging and extensive, with no hand-holding, and there is no “right” or “wrong” way to play.

Are they making a last kids on Earth game?

There have been some interesting rumors floating around the internet recently, that if you have a kid, or plan to have one, there may be an unstoppable hyper-technological race to get you to make one. The way it has been described is that the government is forcing the developers of games to make a last kids on Earth type of game. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that would be a good thing, so naturally I had to find out if the rumors were true. After a few days of research, I found that there really may be a secret society that is trying to get people to have children, and they are using games, and other entertainment media as part of their plan. Last year, “Life is Strange”, a pretty good game, came out as a series of five episodes. The first episode was set in a high school, the second one was set in a college, and the third one was set in a hospital. We don’t know when “Life is Strange 2” is coming out, but we have a feeling it won’t be on the next generation consoles on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Does June and Jack get together in last kids on Earth?

The Last Kids on Earth is a zombie survival game featuring an open world environment with no loading screens, and a day/night cycle. In the game, the player must survive the outbreak and find a cure, which is spread through radio broadcasts that appear on radios that can be found throughout the world. The game is completely open world, with no loading screens, so players can explore the world and complete quests at their own pace. Did anyone else think that at the end of Life in Starbound, June and Jack were going to hook up? It’s a shame they never did, because June and Jack really do deserve each other. Both are pretty awkward and have “closeted” feelings for each other. No one else is even onto them. No one else is even trying to help, not even June’s mom.
