Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops’ second zombie map, Firebase Z, is finally here and brings with it some exciting features, many of which are already familiar from previous zombie maps. Once again, you need to feed the area and have access to a packing machine to have a chance at survival. Here’s how to accomplish both at once.

Talk to Ravenov and use the transporter.

When you enter the map, you must first speak to Captain Ravenov. He is easy to find. Go left into the courtyard and talk to him behind the glass panel. Next to him you will see a packing machine that is off.

Now you need to go through the dark ether gate on the roof of the building, across the courtyard. Buy the first door and go up the stairs to the transporter. Access to the portal is free, and you can go from one place to another at any time. On the other side, find yourself on the current Firebase map.

Deployment Control

When you get out of the transporter, you enter a helicopter platform with three separate doors. You must open the doors behind each one and activate the reactor at each point.

To the left of the helicopter platform, the open area leads to a pair of stairs that lead to the mission control. In the middle of the control room is a generator that must be activated. Pay gasoline to start the machine and several generators will activate, causing the zombies to run towards them. One generator is in the stairwell in front of the door through which you entered the room, and the other two are on the same level as the generator on the wall and behind another staircase. If you are playing alone, keep an eye on two of these machines.

You have to kill all the zombies here, sucking their souls into the machine. Below the minimap, you can see that two bars have appeared – one for cost and one for damage. Each soul the machine sucks in raises a purple charge bar. Fill this bar before the zombies do too much damage, and the middle generator you activated will send a shockwave that will kill all the zombies in the area, meaning you have successfully completed the challenge here.

Return to the helipad and open the center door to the barracks. Go forward and to the right to open the door to the data center. The starting generator for this section is at the bottom of the stairs in the middle of the room. The first of the zombie shower machines is at the top of the stairs, about halfway between the door through which you entered and the Speed Cola machine. The other two are in the hallway around the generator room. When you fill the recharge meter, the same shockwave is triggered and activates the power in this area of the map.

Military Command

Finally, go back to the helicopter platform and open the last door of the motor pool. Open the door on the right to enter the military command. After entering, go left out of the corridor and find the last generator to start. Complete this last zombie soul sequence and you are free. All three cars are near the generator. Two of them are on either side of the small courtyard here, and the last one is in the building behind the generator. The whole map is now powered and you can use all the machines with bonuses.

Once the three generators are running, it’s time to return to the courtyard of the village where we started the map. Take the teleporter you took at the beginning of the game to return and run down the stairs to talk to Ravenov behind the glass. After interacting with him, the wrapper will automatically turn on, allowing you to increase the damage of the weapon and add an effect to your bullets.
