Several video conferences and events have been cancelled in recent weeks due to the coronavirus and the need to contain its spread. Although they are only scheduled from the 9th to the 11th. In June, the ESA made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s E3, which was to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California.

The show has evolved in recent years and even sells tickets for upcoming video games. Last year Sony was not present and this year they announced that they would not be present either. Other big companies like EA often do their thing at the same time of year – although it’s not yet known if any publisher will hold events because of the viral situation.

What does this mean for Nintendo fans? Well, they should have been very present at E3 this year as usual, but now we have to wait and see what they do, if anything. Of course, they could have just broadcast their usual E3 live, since it’s just a video and they don’t have a live audience. They could also broadcast certain segments of Treehouse Live live from NOA headquarters, as they have done on occasion. I think Nintendo will consider these options, but the cancellation of E3 could give them the freedom to host what they want, when they want. In other words, maybe they’ll let us get through that week in June without hearing anything from Nintendo, and release a Direct or something in July.

This may depend on what other companies are planning. It’s entirely possible that later this week we’ll get conferences from Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, EA, Square Enix and Digital Devolver using Nintendo Direct as a video presentation. I hope so too, because it’s always a fun time to take a few days off and enjoy all the video game announcements and previews. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long to find out what our plans are.

It should be noted that ESA is looking for ways to coordinate an online experiment to share announcements and news in June 2020. If this is the case, then all is not lost!

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, announced that Microsoft will launch the new Xbox series digitally.

E3 has always been a big time for Team Xbox. With this decision in mind, we are celebrating the next generation of games this year with the @Xbox community and everyone who loves to play through the digital Xbox event. More details on the calendar and more information in the coming weeks

After careful consultation with our members about the health and safety of everyone involved in our industry – our fans, employees, exhibitors and long-time E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to hold E3 2020, scheduled for September 11. June in Los Angeles would be canceled.

Because of the growing and overwhelming concern about the COVID-19 virus, we felt that this was the right decision in an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we could not host this event for our fans and supporters. But we know this is the right decision based on the information we have now.

Our team will contact exhibitors and participants directly for a full refund.

We are also exploring opportunities to work with our members to coordinate an online experience to present industry announcements and news in June 2020. Updates will be available on

Thanks to everyone who gave their opinions on this year’s new E3 draft. We look forward to presenting E3 2021 as a renewed event that brings fans, media and industry together in a showcase that celebrates the global video game industry.
