Biomes are different regions in Minecraft that differ in climate, terrain, animals, geography, materials and more. There are many different biomes to discover in Overworld, all offering a variety of experiences. Of the different regions, some biomes have sub-regions that are different types of the same biomechanism.

This is a classic area where meadows and land are generally flat. Here, but also in the villages, different species of animals reproduce. There is also the possibility that bees and destroyed Dutch Portals are in this area.

There are many trees in the forest that are perfect for collecting wood, especially if you are a beginner. In the base forest you will mainly find oaks.

Flower forest

It is a kind of normal oak forest, but there are many different kinds of flowers in this forest, resulting in a higher percentage of bee brood.

Birch forest

The birch forest, just like a normal forest, is populated by a large number of trees, with the exception of the oak tree, in whose place the birch stands. The birch trees will not be very high, unless the forest is in an area with hills.

Dark forest

This is a much more dangerous version of the forest biome. In the dark forest there are dark oaks that cover most of the ground with their branches. This creates many shady areas to excite the enemy crowd. These places can also have giant mushrooms. There is also the rare opportunity to find a forest villa here.

Wetlands are areas with shallow pools of water and oaks with vines hanging from them. They are most noticeable due to the discoloration of the water and grass present. In this area you will find mucus huts and witch huts. Swamps are also the only place where water lilies and blue orchids grow. There’s also a lot of clay in the swamps.

The jungle resembles a forest biome because of the large number of trees, but differs from it in that it has the largest trees in the game. Just like the swamp, the trees in the jungle are covered with vines. In this biomeet you will find ocelots, parrots, cocoa beans, melons and jungle temples.

The taiga is a wooded and hilly region where large spruces grow. This is the area where players are most likely to encounter wolves and foxes. There is also the possibility of sugar cane growing, but in colder versions this may not be possible if the water is frozen.

Snow Taiga

Just like the common taiga, the snow taiga is covered with spruce, but in this variant it is covered with snow and the water is covered with ice.

Giant Taiga Tree

This version of the taiga is actually very different from the normal version. Just like in the sequoia forest, there are massive trees in this taiga. It also contains a variant of mud, podzol, ferns, mushrooms and mossy pebbles.

Snow tundra

The snow-covered tundra is covered with snow and will not have much vegetation. There will be spruces, wolves and polar bears scattered.

Peak ice levels

Plank-ice are areas in the water where there are both walkable icebergs and massive icebergs.

Moors are hilly areas made up of different varieties of clay and terracotta. There’s red sand, dead bushes and cacti. It is very likely that gold will be found in this area, as well as in the mine shafts on the surface.

One of the most fundamental biomes is the desert. Here you will find most of the cacti. The land is mainly sand and sandstone, desert temples and desert pits are rare.

The savannas are dry plains where acacias, horses and llamas thrive. These regions are usually bordered by deserts or meso-bi trees.

The oceans are enormous masses of water with a bottom of gravel, mud or clay. There may be abandoned mine shafts, but there’s not much land above the water. At the moment the players can find small islands between the enormous masses of water.

Large funds

This option is much deeper than your standard ocean with up to thirty blocks of depth. These areas contain monuments with enemy guards, fish, dolphins, turtles and squids.

Mushroom fields

Mushroom fields are rare and interesting biomes that have mycelium instead of trees and grass and giant mushrooms. It’s the only biomeet where players can find mushrooms.

The biomes in the mountains are characterized by huge heaps of earth and stone and occasionally also by the presence of a tree. The main features are the enormous cliffs and the valleys that separate them. In general, there are complex cave systems and a lot of ore under the mountains.

Deep Dark / Drop

These are the two variants of the caves that will be released with update 1.17 in 2020. This includes challenging the caves near the rock with new materials and a brand new enemy band, the Overlord.
